CEC Software Patent Consultation 2000 Submissions: Bull

Michel Colombe, patent expert from legal department of Bull SA, a large subsidy-alimented French software giant, applauds the EU paper, says that our system must be modelled on the US model, because anyone who wants to succeed globally needs to succeed on the US market. The patent system is particularly important for SMEs, for whom it is often the only way to protect their interests, access risk capital and expand into the US market. Demands that software patents must be fully enforcable against the end-user and in particular against any commercial intermediaries.
